This bracelet is a little reminder of how often women (and sometimes men too) end up in dangerous, and even fatal situations, because "They just didn't want to be rude." I am here to remind you, along with our friends Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, from My Favorite Murder Podcast, to "Fuck Politeness"! While it's great to be a friendly and helpful citizen of the world, it is always okay to look after your own safety first. Let this copper cuff be your reminder to always trust your gut, and "Fuck Politeness" to get out of any situation where you feel uncomfortable.
This bracelet is created entirely by from sheet copper, gemstones and chain. I create each cuff by hand painting the image or in text onto sheet copper using tiny paint brushes and a resist. The sheet is submerged into an etching batch until my design is cut into the copper. Each piece is cleaned, sawed, filed, shaped and treated to prevent any color changes, or coloration of the skin.
